Monday Montage 242 - Hey Chuck

Summer is slipping through my fingers before I can get to everything I want. Life has dealt some crazy cards for our family this summer and I feel like I am going to be happy with whatever gets accomplished.  I am so grateful for friends and all the support I get from them.

You have arrived to the latest Monday Montage Blog Hop - I just cant get over how funny these chickens in Hey Chuck are.  I know when this card gets delivered it will have a funny sarcastic comment that totally fits the attitude shown by this rooster

Sometimes I have such a struggle putting pattern paper together.  I love the brown pattern from Earthen Elegance DSP.  It gives off a fence or farm vibe which was perfect for Chuck.  I loved matching the colors in his tail with the peacock color and adding a color coordinating heart background.

We Create - So Refreshing

Not much else is refreshing as limeade, or lemonade on a hot afternoon.  I love it with a little bit of lemon lime soda or sparkling water added to it.  I think limeade is my favorite.  I also really like Brazilian Limeade with the condensed milk as the sweetener. MMmmm so good!  It's been a summer for the record books as far as heat is concerned.  Whew  Now all I need is a pool.

Welcome to the We Create Blog Hop where are recycling a product and making it something out of it. I love taking cute little containers and remaking them into something usable, giftable and cute!  I think presentation really makes difference with little gifts.

This little metal container used to hold cookie cutters which have long since been removed.  I thought it would make a great container for lemon drops.  The So Refreshing stamp set was the perfect set to create the design for the contrainer.

I also decided to recycle the card layout from this fall layout to and create a card to coordinate with the cute little container...

Monday Montage - 241

Why is it that the weeks that contain a holiday seem to be sooo much longer than a full 5 day work week?
We celebrated July 24th in Utah with some rest and relaxation.  I guess you just have to make up the work because the rest of the world didn't get a day off.

You have found the Monday Montage Crew - You are so Lucky!.  These paper crafters have got some serious talent you wont want to miss.
Inspired by a fellow demonstrator Robyn Ryan - I brought out an oldy but goody - Lady Bug Builder punch and paired it with the new Paper Florist Dies.  I decided my little lady bug needed some sparkle to match the center of the flower.  I added dots to the wings and layered the flower and ladybug on some embossed vellum.  This turned out to be one of those projects that I pulled all my dies out and combined for a cute little card.

Paper - Glorious Gingham, Soft Shimmer paper combo pack, Lemon Lime Twist, White
Accessories - Lady Bug Builder Punch, Paper Florist, Scalloped Contours Dies, Wanted to Say Dies, Ribbon Duo Combo Pack, Classic Matte Dots, Online exclusive Basic EF

Monday Montage 240 - Darling Details

Seems like we go from one extreme to the other.  HOT!  I am so grateful for an air conditioner that keeps my home cool and comfortable.  When I get too hot, I get a little grumpy...ok a lot!  The good thing that the sun and heat bring is vegetables in the garden.  We have been enjoying fresh corn and tomatoes from the local produce stand.  I love it!

The Monday Montage gals are at it again for another hop.  Hang with us to see some inspiring crating.

The first time I saw this set in the catalog it brought back major memories of a stamps set Stampin' Up had in their catalog.. It had the bold lines and it was a floral.  I thought to myself....not again.  However when I saw the sample in the back of the catalog with the ribbon woven through the border die, I knew I had to give it a try.

I did case the sample and changed the color scheme.  I had a major love affair with ballet blue, certainly celery, and barely banana.  I have attempted to recreate that scheme with new colors....

Ink - Azure Sky, Balmy Blue, Lemon Lolly, Daffodil Delight, Crushed Curry, Granny Apple Green, White

Happy July.  Summer is in full swing. We get to celebrate the 4th of July - one of my favorite holidays.  My brother gets married this month in San Diego - It will be a quick trip, but worth it! Hopefully there will be some garden fresh produce to be had as well this month.  I just have to savor each day, because is just seems to go by so fast.

You have made your way to the Monday Montage Blog Hop.  Stick around through the whole hop, you won't want to miss these projects!
When I saw the Petal Patterns cutting plates in the catalog, I knew that they would be added to my collection.  Isn't this a fun background... and just think of all the possibilities and color combos.  I love daisies and flowers, which led to my next purchase of the paper florist. Once again so many possibilities with the different petals, flower shapes and leaves.

I love the feeling the aspen tree dies give and with the effect of snow in the background it is a perfect winter day.  The mittens with the snowflakes are perfect for warming hands and looking so fun on the front of the card.  I used the little iridescent diamonds form the rainbow colored Thank you card kit we have available.

Monday Montage 238 Lazy Days

I am having such a lovely June so far.  Crazy busy with work and a visit to my Mum's to celebrate her birthday.  I am also totally ok with the Spring weather we have been getting.  Temperature in the 70's with scattered showers throughout the week.

Its the Monday Montage group with another hop for you.  I always dreamt of having a beautiful wrap around white farmhouse porch.  With plenty of hanging baskets, planters and clematis vines climbing up the posts.  Maybe one day, I might even have a porch of some type to hang out on.  Gabbing to all the neighbors that walk by.  Well, I don't have that, but I can design my dream porch with this great set from Stampin UP - Lazy Days
Little tricks - I cut the porch post out twice so I could extend it to the length I wanted it. I used the negative image of the cut cloud as a stencil and blended white ink as the clouds to give it a softer wispier look.  I blended the ink on the rocking chair to give it a little color variation so it didn't look all one color.

Stamps - Lazy Days
Ink - Gray Granite, Real Red, Pecan Pie, Black, White
Paper - Garden Green, Granny Apple Green, Balmy Blue White
Accessories - Lazy Day Dies, blending brushes, Stampin blends,  marvelous markers.
