Monday Montage 154

When I was much younger I always heard adults talk about how much time flies and how I would understand when I got older.  Boy....do I ever understand.  The bad part is that is gets worse every year.  No matter how busy you are time still flies by.

Welcome to the Monday Montage Blog Hop.

Christmas is around the corner and I find myself longing for peace quiet and tranquility.  I grew up in a small logging community that sits right on the Payette River.

There are often deer or elk in a snowy meadow with the sun glistening on the snow making it look like a million diamonds.  I tried to recreate that scene in my mind, but haven't even come close to capturing the beauty.  If I had more time I would have tried again and again until I got it right, but as I mentioned earlier.  Time Flies!!!

Monday Montage 152

I don't know about you, but I really need time to slow down a bit.  The holidays are coming too fast and I am not even close to being ready.  I am enjoying our warm fall weather and the college football season.  My Utes had an awesome game this weekend against UCLA  49-3.  We are still hanging out at #7 in the AP poll -   I doubt we will move in the CFP. when it comes out on Tuesday.

Welcome to Monday Montage
So....this time of year, right up there with football, I love to watch Hallmark Christmas movies.  I know they all end the same on Christmas Eve, it starts to snow and they end up kissing...happily ever after.  One of them that I recently watched this year was Write Before Christmas.  SPOILERS

The main character buys 5 Christmas cards to send to her boyfriend to help him get into the holiday spirit.  He breaks up with her before she can send them and she is left with 5 cards.  She decides to send them to 5 people that mean so much to her and the rest of the show is how those cards affected the receivers and their lives.  Moral of my story....getting Christmas cards is the mail is the BEST!!!!!  Send your cards and make someones day.

The holly in the Christmas Gleaming stamp set is what put me over the edge and I had to have it.  I heat embossed in gold the holly on the red and spruce paper.  I then fussy cut the berries and the holly out and layered them.  I love the plaid DSP.  It is soooo pretty with the gold accents.

Stamps - Christmas Gleaming, Tidings all Around
Ink - Shaded Spruce, Versamark
Paper - Real Red, Shaded Spruce, Gold Foil, Wrapped in Plaid DSP
Accessories - Gold thread, gold embossing powder, layering circle dies

Monday Montage 151

I cannot believe that we are already into November.  We only have 4 more football games left in the football season except for a bowl game and if we continue to play as we have maybe a PAC 12 championship game.  This month is a great reminder of how much I have to be thankful for.

Welcome to the Monday Montage Blog Hop
I am grateful for friends that invited me into their circle.  To make cards to share and build friendships.  I am still in the process of unpacking thing and found myself looking for my red and green ink pads that are in a box I took to a tag making class.  Thankfully I have a friend that lives 10 minutes from me that saved my bacon.

The card ended up being Christmas despite the fact that I am embracing the Thanksgiving Holiday.

Stamps - Peaceful Boughs
Ink - Shaded Spruce, Real Red, Early Espresso
Paper - Whisper White, Shaded Spruce,  Wrapped in Plaid DSP
Accessories - Snowfall accents, Beautiful Boughs Dies, Real Red cotton ribbon, jingle bells

We Create Regal's Collection Blog Hop

My favorite month is now over.  IT flew by with so much going on.  Utah has had such a beautiful Fall season thus far.  We have had a small bout of January weather pass through, but I am hoping for a little bit more temperate weather before the snow comes to stay. For Halloween treats I made caramel apples for my co-workers and friends.  One of my favorite treats to share this time of year.  You just can't go wrong with a tart Granny Smith apple and caramel.  The rest is just icing on the cake!

My football team is now 9 in the AP Polls.
We play Washington this weekend at Husky Stadium  It will be a tough game.  I am keeping my fingers and toes crossed for my Utes!

Welcome to the We Create Blog Hop.  I love the little animals from Back on your feet.
Isn't that little sloth cute and wouldn't you just love to get this in the mail if you were feeling under the weather.  I know I would.

Monday Montage 150

What a whirlwind my last weeks have been.  We decided to move to a different home.  Rent was increasing and we knew the home we were in was really too much space for just two people and a dog.  I don't know about you, but I'm the type of person that if I have space I will fill it.  In the long run it will be the best for us but it was really hard to downsize and say goodbye to some of my stamps (that never get used)
My Utah Utes are doing amazing.  We spent the evening at the football game on Saturday...in the rain.  My rain poncho was saturated and started to leak at the seams.  Still worth it to see the game live.  We played ASU and pulled a win of 21-3.

When we moved, I was very careful to put my current supplies in boxes that were easily accessible.  Even after being extra careful, I couldn't find my paper snips or dimensionals, Phhhtt!!!     I haven't been able to play with my Halloween stamps sets yet, so I took this opportunity to pull them out and use them.  The month is flying by way too fast. I am not sure how scalloped ribbon and bows become creepy, but it filled the space.  Can it be Creepily Cute?

Stamps - Boo to You, Spooktacular Bash
Ink - Staz-On black
Paper - Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Monster Bash DSP,
Accessories - scalloped black ribbon, layering squares dies, stitched shapes dies, ornate dies, monster bash enamel shapes,  assorted googly eyes, marvelous markers

We have a cool day with some rain providing a little reprieve from the heat.  Feels fallish which has inspired the card I made today.   I would love to have a pot and tree like this in my yard.  I stamped the leaves twice to fill in the foliage.

Monday Montage 146

I just got back from spending the weekend in St George/Cedar City.  This being my birthday month and a BIG birthday to celebrate.  My sweetheart Ralph and I were able to get away to spend the weekend together and catch a couple of Shakespeare plays.  We saw Macbeth and Twelfth Night.  They were both incredibly done.  Some of the characters will will stay with me for quite some time.  I would love to dress up like the three weird sisters for Halloween.  Anyone Game???  I have never been disappointed with the productions and always come away hoping I can go back the following year.

Its the end of August - My mind turns towards fall which happens to by my most favorite season.  I know Summer is not over, but I can't resist the colors and thinking of the cooler days.

Oh and you can't forget Football.  My Utes take on our rival on Thursday.  Excited, nervous, and ready to get our first W of the season.  Go UTES!!!!

The card I made uses my most favorite fall colors (minus Old Olive :) )  I cased the idea from the Stampin Success publication.  While I was in St George I was working on a project for a Relief Society activity (womens organization in my church/Ward).  I forgot one of my cutting plates so I was unable to work on it until I remembered that some amazing demo's live in St George.  I got in contact with one of them and they supplied me with a set up plates to so I could get a bunch of stuff cut.  This card will be sent to her with much gratitude!

Monday Montage 145

One of my favorite things about stamping and being a Stampin UP demonstrator is having friends that live relatively close by that we can chat and share all the goodies that we get.  I love having friends all over the continent to blog hop, chat and share ideas.
As I sit here and type up my post, I am chatting with my BFF Wendy as we compare cards, cooking triumphs, dog walking notes and plans for the coming week.  So much fun!!!!

For this blog hop I chose an image that pretty much takes up the whole card.  Wendy inspired me with her 4th of July card with the same set.  I colored the main image with markers giving it the striped/blended look.
