Stamping With Friends - Christmas Cards - Celebrate with Tags

Feels a little funny working on Christmas cards before Halloween is over, but the weather sure matches the cold fall season today which makes it a little easier.  I like to keep my holidays separate and enjoy them for what they are.

The cards today contain these super cute mittens from the Celebrate with Tags bundle.  It has Christmas, birthdays, hearts for valentines all the goodies for year round.  The sentiments are part of a new promotion starting November 1st with a super cute bundle and these great Christmas sentiments.  I Love the fonts they used - Keep your eyes open for it.

The specialty velumn I used on the FaLaLa card has great holographic dots that I layered over the navy.  The effect is so cool, especially depending on the angle you look at it.

I colored the red and green mittens with markers, you could also mask off the sections and use your ink pads.  The Stamparatus ensures a good image.  If you don't have one...you need it!

  • Stamps - Celebrate with Tags, Framed and Festive

  • Paper - Basic White, Real Red, Night of Navy, Sweetest Christmas DSP, Snowflake Specialty Velum

Monday Montage 224 - Perched in a Tree

I can't believe we are starting another week....The weekend's fly by and I look at my to do list and wonder why nothing got done, but I was busy the whole time. (shoulder shrug) I don't know.  I do know it was a good football weekend, I got some of my craft room cleaned up, I made a loaf of sourdough bread to munch on during the week...I guess that's something.

Fall here in Utah is at its peak.  The beautiful aspen trees mixed with the fir trees is just stunning.  I know New England is famous for the "Falls" but I think Utah has a great handle on their own Falls. Makes me wish I had time every weekend to go and explore.

I chose to use Aspen tree dies for my card today.  I blended colors for the back ground and added some petal pink ink to one of the glimmer leaves to pop on the front. Simple but effective. The background was painted over with Wink of Stella to match the glimmer in the aspen leaves

  • Stamps - Fond Of Autumn
  • Ink - Evening Evergreen, Starry Sky, So Saffron, Petal Pink, Pool Party
  • Paper - White, Glimmer Specialty Paper
  • Accessories - Aspen Tree Dies, Stylish Shapes, Wink of Stella

Stamping With Friends - Celebrate Sunflowers

What your you thankful for?  Oh, the list is long, but today my card focuses on Sunflowers and Friends.  Both of these bring joy and gratitude to my life.

I love this sunflower image and its the perfect time of year to be showcasing this amazing flower that chases the sun and brings smiles to many.

I embossed the image in white and then colored it with the blending brushes in a rainbow type fashion. I was hoping the pink would show more, but really like how it turned out.  the line image was die cut and layered over the top.  Same with the leaves.

  • Stamps - Celebrate Sunflower, Create with Friends
  • Ink - Poppy Parade, Polished Pink, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Garden Green, Granny Apple Green
  • Paper - Polished Pink, White
  • Accessories - Stitched Greenery, Sunflower Dies, White embossing powder, Festive Pearls

WE Create - Halloween and Harvest

Happy October 1st.  Day's like today are my favorite.  Fallish weather, a football game, a good hot dog, and nothing else to worry about today except filling up my gas tank to get to the football game.

It has been one crazy month... ok the last two have been crazy, but I am hoping that October proves to calm down a bit and I can start knocking of some of my to do list.
My crush and I always try to get a drive through the canyons in and enjoy all the Fall colors.  I hope this coming week will give us some time.  The bright orange yellow aspens amongst the dark green pine trees is amazing.  I did get back East once during the fall to see the amazing fall colors.  Mother nature at her brightest.
