Monday Montage 229 - Sweet Citrus - Alphabet A La Mode

I feel like life is finally coming back together - into a life routine.  I like not having to rush to the next activity/project.  I love taking time to cuddle with my dog on the couch and actually pick up a book instead of listening to audible while I race to another obligation.

Tis the season for Citrus and these limes are Sub-Lime  (LOL)  I saw a cute card created like this from Lawn Fawn, I knew I had to see if I could re-create (CASE) it with the products I love from Stampin UP.  The combo of letters and fruit makes for a fun card anyone would like to get in the mail.

I cut the letters twice, once in white and once in granny apple green and layered them to give them a pop off of the seafoam green cardstock.  I did computer generate the "hope your day is" because I couldn't find  a stamp that would work - Thank goodness for technology.  The leaves were dotted with a white gel pen to tied in the the dots on the limes.

Monday Montage 228 - Playing in the Rain - Alphabet A La Mode

I was dealt some pretty big blows this last week and have been trying to wrap my head around how best to mentally process them.  I guess it makes it even harder as these things were completely out of my control. The crush has been a great moral support but the pain and confusion don't go away.  It ultimately has to be trust in God's plan and somehow turning the issue over to Him.  Thank goodness I have a hobby that provides an escape and therapy.

I had a great morning brunch with some amazing friends on Saturday, a spiritual uplift on Sunday, and a little nap also really helped.  These little friends in Playing in the Rain stamp set can't help but put a smile on someone's face.  Even mine!

I die cut the word friend from Alphabet A La Mode and went searching for a sentiment to go with it.  I was looking more for a Thinking of you, but when I saw the Rainy days are better with you, I knew I had found the right one.  I masked off the "you" and embossed the sentiment on black with white embossing powder.  The DSP that coordinates with the stamps and dies made it super easy to add on the little creatures to the card.  I also really like the effect of the rainy background paper.

Stamping With Friends - Emboss Resist - Sweet Citrus

When life sends you lemons -  you give them a Squeeze!!!  I love lemons as decor, and especially in my cooking, desserts, salads, dressing, marinades etc....  Something so refreshing about lemons.

I thought the lemons would make a great background with the emboss resist technique and it did not disappoint.  I stamped the image in Versamark  and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  I went over it with Daffodil delight and varied the intensity. - the embossed image resists the ink making an image pop!

The stamp Bundle comes with Stamps, dies and an embossing folder that gives great texture to the citrus as well as throws in some leaves for fill in.  It so fun to play with and makes great cards.
  • Stamps - Sweet Citrus
  • Ink - Daffodil Delight, Black, Versamark
  • Paper, Daffodil delight, basic black, white
  • Accessories - Scalloped contour Dies, Sweet Citrus Hybrid embossing folder

This is such a fun technique - stay with us by clicking "next blog" and see what Mickey has created.

We Create - Celebrate with Tags - Last Chance

Happy New Year!  As the calendar year rolls around again it always gives me pause to think about all the things that happened in 2022 and things I want to do better in the coming year.  I don't usually write down resolutions, but try to map out things I want to accomplish in the month.  Sometimes big lists and aspirations becoming overwhelming.  How about you?

This blog hop is to hopefully inspire you to grab those last minute stamps and dies that will be retiring from the June - Dec 22 catalog.
I am always a sucker for tag sets.  This catalog did not disappoint.

Even though I used a tag set, I set about to create a card that could be used for Valentines, or any other day.  Although it was showcased as Christmas, there are birthday and other sentiments/dies that can be used outside of the Christmas Season

The DSP paper is also retiring.  It is all black, white and gray. Perfect for any occasion, can be accented and colored if you want.  Can never go wrong with polka dots!

  • Stamps - Celebrate with Tags
  • Ink - Black
  • Paper - Black and White Designs DSP, White, Black, Real Red
