Monday Montage - 225 - Sweet Candy Canes

I was actually ready to start celebrating the holidays.  I put up some Thanksgiving fall decorations, and made some pumpkin spice French toast and hung out with friends for Brunch.  Friends make my world so much better.  We had such a wet rainy weekend, the crush and I skipped attending the Utah Football game. Gasp, I know!  I never skip a game but 40 degree temps and Wet and wind is not fun no matter who is playing football.

I decided to break out my Christmas Stamps.  This candy cane bundle is so cute.  The paper and candy canes are just too fun!  The backgrounds and tags that come with the bundle are so versatile and can be used year round.  Makes me want to eat a candy cane!

Stamping With Friends - Sending Smiles SIP

Well November has showed up with a super crazy week and rain - pouring rain on the day I am supposed to be going to Rice Eccles stadium for a football game.  I think I am going to step back from this one and watch it from home.  I even have a really nice rain poncho, but I don't think I am going to make it.

Who knew that creating a simple card with Stamps Ink Paper would be so difficult.  (SIP) I wanted to add embellishments and texture.  I think even when I started stamping, my friend would always encourage me to keep it simple.  Even now, I want to add some ribbon and extra sparkle.  Or - maybe I am so wiped out tired I have lost the creative mojo and this is the best I can come up with.

This Sending Smiles stamp set is so versatile and great sentiments.  Great or any occasion and the color ways are endless.  I did some flicking with my markers to create some splatter in the background for visual interest.

Stamps - Sending smiles, Happy Hedgehog (butterfly)
Ink - Rich Razzleberry, Blackberry Bliss, Mango Melody, Garden Green, Early Espresso
Paper - Whtie
Accessories - Sending Smiles Dies, Markers

We Create - Thankful and Thinking of you - Cracker and Treat Box

We have arrived at the month of November where, if you didn't already feel you were on a downhill track of a roller coaster you will now.  I have been trying to soak up everything I love about fall but have found myself getting caught up in the everyday stresses and decided I need to slow down a bit.

I have a few friends that get together once a month for brunch.  We have only been getting together just a little over a year, I have grown to truly love all these women so much, their talents and their unique stories.  It is my turn to host the brunch and I thought I would put together a some of these cracker treat boxes to put at each place setting.  Not only for decoration, but to let them know I am grateful for them in my life.
And it will have chocolate inside -

The jury is still out with the fall floral placement, but I really am liking how they are turning out.  Fond of Autumn has really become one of my favorite stamps sets.  So versatile and festive.  I also added some DSP to the project from a brand new Bundle now available called Fitting Florets.  This green plaid just speaks Fall and Christmas to me.
