Monday Montage 189

Hopefully everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend.  I got to talk to my Mom for a few minutes on the phone which is really not much different than any other day, but it was a chance to focus on how much she has taught me and influenced me for good.

Welcome to the Monday Montage Blog Hop!  You won't want to miss a post - Click the Next button until you make it through hop.

I haven't had a chance to buy very many stamps from the new catalog, but was inspired by this layout to use the Poppy stamp set which is so loved!  My red ink smeared a bit - so there is a lovely pink glow on the poppy tag :)  The sentiment, butterfly and flowers just bring a smile to my face, I hope it does yours!

Ink - Black
Paper - Pool Party, Crumb Cake, Basic White, Hand Penned DSP

We Create - Technique Toss Up

Hello Sunshine and welcome to the We Create - Technique Toss UP blog hop.  Make sure you don't miss a chance to see some really cool techniques by clicking the NEXT button at the end of this post.

One of my favorite techniques is the emboss resist.  An image is stamped and heat embossed usually in white, but I think any color would work.  The embossing resists any ink added to the image.  The results are really striking when the heat embossed image pops from behind the ink.  There are so many how to videos already out in wide world web, I won't take the time to go through the steps.

I love these sunflower stamps.  Amazing detail and although I didn't use them, the dies are amazing and coordinate perfectly.

  • Stamps - Celebrate Sunflowers
  • Ink - Early Espresso, Mango Melody, Daffodil Delight, Black
  • Paper - Basic White, Garden Green
  • Accessories - White Embossing Powder, sponge daubers, Taylor Made Tags Dies, Simply Elegant Trim, Sequins for Everything
