Monday Montage 227 - Beautifully Happy

Um....I'm so tired.  I am looking forward to being done with Christmas Prep.  We usually try to stay within a pretty tight budget, which means homemade goodies.  When all is said and done - 15 loaves of sourdough bread, caramel sandwiched pretzels dipped in chocolate, moose munch caramel popcorn, Jazzed up Party Mix, 24 pints of blueberry jam and orange marmalade and a doggie who just wants some cuddle time with his Person.
I chose this stamp set which was given to attendees of the Stampin Onstage conference.  Beautifully Happy will be available as part of the Sale A Bration promotion starting in January
I immediate thought of morning glory - which it probably isn't, but the coloring was inspired by them.
It is a two -step stamp which makes creating an image super easy, especially as it is a photo polymer stamp and we have clear block and a stamparatus which makes it easy to use even for beginners

MM 226 - Tree Lot Dies Christmas Greetings

I love it when my weekends are full of fun activities full of friends, family and fun!  I hate it when my weekends are so full of activities that my todo list doesn't get much attention.  This was one of those weekends.

The Christmas holidays are in full swing and I have yet to take down my Thanksgiving decorations.  I am anxious to do some Christmas baking and making my lists so that I don't miss a thing.  I love making things to share with friends and neighbors.

My BFF Wendy convinced me I needed this cute little tree lot set with accompanying dies.  I just realized the dies and cute pattern paper are no longer available, but couldn't resist using them to make this card.

We Create - Tis the Season - Sweet Candy Canes

This last week has been uber crazy, fighting a virus that has completely kicked by butt, trying to catch up from the holidays and still deal with everything the first week of the month brings. After this week I hope to embrace the season and find the peace and joy that comes with focus on our Savior and the happiness that comes from giving.

A year ago today my SIL and Christmas crafter partner passed way.  I still miss her like crazy and wish I could pick up the phone and give her a call and talk about silly Hallmark shows, Christmas decor and all the activities the come during the holidays.  I am trying to channel her love of "whimsy" and all things Joyful .

If anything says Christmas, beyond of course a beautiful nativity is a beautiful red and green candy cane. Sweet and Pepperminty (is that a word?)  How can you not smile when someone hands you a candy cane, or you see it accent on a Christmas Gift.

  • Stamps - Sweet Candy Canes
  • Ink -
  • Paper - Garden Green, Real Red, White, Sweetest Christmas DSP
  • Accessories - Candy Cane Dies, Stylish Shapes Dies, Garden Green Ribbon, Scalloped contours dies
I love the whimsy the scalloped border gives to the fun candy canes.

Monday Montage - 225 - Sweet Candy Canes

I was actually ready to start celebrating the holidays.  I put up some Thanksgiving fall decorations, and made some pumpkin spice French toast and hung out with friends for Brunch.  Friends make my world so much better.  We had such a wet rainy weekend, the crush and I skipped attending the Utah Football game. Gasp, I know!  I never skip a game but 40 degree temps and Wet and wind is not fun no matter who is playing football.

I decided to break out my Christmas Stamps.  This candy cane bundle is so cute.  The paper and candy canes are just too fun!  The backgrounds and tags that come with the bundle are so versatile and can be used year round.  Makes me want to eat a candy cane!

  • Stamps - Sweet  Candy Canes
  • Ink - Real Red, Garden Green
  • Paper - Real Red, Garden Green, Sweetest Christmas DSP

Stamping With Friends - Sending Smiles SIP

Well November has showed up with a super crazy week and rain - pouring rain on the day I am supposed to be going to Rice Eccles stadium for a football game.  I think I am going to step back from this one and watch it from home.  I even have a really nice rain poncho, but I don't think I am going to make it.

Who knew that creating a simple card with Stamps Ink Paper would be so difficult.  (SIP) I wanted to add embellishments and texture.  I think even when I started stamping, my friend would always encourage me to keep it simple.  Even now, I want to add some ribbon and extra sparkle.  Or - maybe I am so wiped out tired I have lost the creative mojo and this is the best I can come up with.

This Sending Smiles stamp set is so versatile and great sentiments.  Great or any occasion and the color ways are endless.  I did some flicking with my markers to create some splatter in the background for visual interest.

Stamps - Sending smiles, Happy Hedgehog (butterfly)
Ink - Rich Razzleberry, Blackberry Bliss, Mango Melody, Garden Green, Early Espresso
Paper - Whtie
Accessories - Sending Smiles Dies, Markers

We Create - Thankful and Thinking of you - Cracker and Treat Box

We have arrived at the month of November where, if you didn't already feel you were on a downhill track of a roller coaster you will now.  I have been trying to soak up everything I love about fall but have found myself getting caught up in the everyday stresses and decided I need to slow down a bit.

I have a few friends that get together once a month for brunch.  We have only been getting together just a little over a year, I have grown to truly love all these women so much, their talents and their unique stories.  It is my turn to host the brunch and I thought I would put together a some of these cracker treat boxes to put at each place setting.  Not only for decoration, but to let them know I am grateful for them in my life.
And it will have chocolate inside -

The jury is still out with the fall floral placement, but I really am liking how they are turning out.  Fond of Autumn has really become one of my favorite stamps sets.  So versatile and festive.  I also added some DSP to the project from a brand new Bundle now available called Fitting Florets.  This green plaid just speaks Fall and Christmas to me.

Stamping With Friends - Christmas Cards - Celebrate with Tags

Feels a little funny working on Christmas cards before Halloween is over, but the weather sure matches the cold fall season today which makes it a little easier.  I like to keep my holidays separate and enjoy them for what they are.

The cards today contain these super cute mittens from the Celebrate with Tags bundle.  It has Christmas, birthdays, hearts for valentines all the goodies for year round.  The sentiments are part of a new promotion starting November 1st with a super cute bundle and these great Christmas sentiments.  I Love the fonts they used - Keep your eyes open for it.

The specialty velumn I used on the FaLaLa card has great holographic dots that I layered over the navy.  The effect is so cool, especially depending on the angle you look at it.

I colored the red and green mittens with markers, you could also mask off the sections and use your ink pads.  The Stamparatus ensures a good image.  If you don't have one...you need it!

  • Stamps - Celebrate with Tags, Framed and Festive
  • Ink - Night of Navy, Real Red
  • Paper - Basic White, Real Red, Night of Navy, Sweetest Christmas DSP, Snowflake Specialty Velum
  • Accessories - Celebrate Tag Dies, red, green, navy and white rhinestones (some of these are retired), Simply Elegant Trim, Bakers Twine Essentials, Wink of Stella

Monday Montage 224 - Perched in a Tree

I can't believe we are starting another week....The weekend's fly by and I look at my to do list and wonder why nothing got done, but I was busy the whole time. (shoulder shrug) I don't know.  I do know it was a good football weekend, I got some of my craft room cleaned up, I made a loaf of sourdough bread to munch on during the week...I guess that's something.

Fall here in Utah is at its peak.  The beautiful aspen trees mixed with the fir trees is just stunning.  I know New England is famous for the "Falls" but I think Utah has a great handle on their own Falls. Makes me wish I had time every weekend to go and explore.

I chose to use Aspen tree dies for my card today.  I blended colors for the back ground and added some petal pink ink to one of the glimmer leaves to pop on the front. Simple but effective. The background was painted over with Wink of Stella to match the glimmer in the aspen leaves

  • Stamps - Fond Of Autumn
  • Ink - Evening Evergreen, Starry Sky, So Saffron, Petal Pink, Pool Party
  • Paper - White, Glimmer Specialty Paper
  • Accessories - Aspen Tree Dies, Stylish Shapes, Wink of Stella

Stamping With Friends - Celebrate Sunflowers

What your you thankful for?  Oh, the list is long, but today my card focuses on Sunflowers and Friends.  Both of these bring joy and gratitude to my life.

I love this sunflower image and its the perfect time of year to be showcasing this amazing flower that chases the sun and brings smiles to many.

I embossed the image in white and then colored it with the blending brushes in a rainbow type fashion. I was hoping the pink would show more, but really like how it turned out.  the line image was die cut and layered over the top.  Same with the leaves.

  • Stamps - Celebrate Sunflower, Create with Friends
  • Ink - Poppy Parade, Polished Pink, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Garden Green, Granny Apple Green
  • Paper - Polished Pink, White
  • Accessories - Stitched Greenery, Sunflower Dies, White embossing powder, Festive Pearls

WE Create - Halloween and Harvest

Happy October 1st.  Day's like today are my favorite.  Fallish weather, a football game, a good hot dog, and nothing else to worry about today except filling up my gas tank to get to the football game.

It has been one crazy month... ok the last two have been crazy, but I am hoping that October proves to calm down a bit and I can start knocking of some of my to do list.
My crush and I always try to get a drive through the canyons in and enjoy all the Fall colors.  I hope this coming week will give us some time.  The bright orange yellow aspens amongst the dark green pine trees is amazing.  I did get back East once during the fall to see the amazing fall colors.  Mother nature at her brightest.

Stamps - Beauty of Friendship, Fond of Autumn
Ink - Cajun Craze, Pumpkin Pie, Mango Melody, Calypso Coral, Soft Suede, Early Espresso, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive
Paper - White, Cottage Gingham
Accessories - Autumn Bouquet Dies, Parakeet Party 2022-20233 incolor metalic ribbon

Monday Montage 223 - Birthday Piggy

Happy Fall everyone.  My favorite time of the year.  I hope to be able to steal away for some quiet time to enjoy the fall colors and crisp air.  Its cozy time for good books, romantic movies, snuggles with my boys, and fresh baked cinnamon rolls.

As much as I love Fall and to create all things Fall, Thanksgiving and Halloween, I needed to make a birthday card and what a better way than with the birthday piggy stamp set, which by the way, you can get the coordinating dies to go with them.  The extras included are a major bonus.

This little pig sure is in it's happy place, and that is the best place to be on your birthday!  This layout is super easy and creates a great focal point for your stamped image.

  • Stamps - Birthday Piggy
  • Ink - Black
  • Paper - Black, White, Blushing Bride, Gingham Cottage DSP
  • Accessories - Blends, Black gingham ribbon, Stylish Shapes Dies, Whimsy stitched Dies
