Monday Montage 214 - Rugged Icon Dies

Welcome to another Blog Tour with the Monday Montage Crew!  Make sure you make it all the way through by hitting the Next button - you won't want to miss a thing!!!

Masculine cards can be a bit of a challenge for me.  I always consult my "Crush" about my projects and ask for his opinion.  When it comes to making cards for the XY gene he always reminds me "no froo froo".  Stampin' UP has come out with an amazing set of dies that are kind of hidden in the catalog.  When I found them I was smitten.  Partly because I love being in the out of doors outdoors and fishing with my crush.  Tie in a beard and a guitar...I'm just sayin.....

I knew I wanted to make a card with a fly rod and mountain scene.  I think in hind sight I would have switched my blues.  Balmy in the sky and pacific for the stream.  I really like how the card turned out.  I frayed the ends of the soft suede ribbon and the sentiment was an easy pick from the great DSP set He's the Man.  I know I will be using the paper and included die cuts again.  The fish is lightly shaded with poppy parade and wink of stella to give it a rainbow trout effect.

Stamps - None
Ink - Poppy Parade
Paper - Evening Evergreen, Pacific Point, Crumb Cake, Old Olive, Balmy Blue, Daffodil Delight, Early Espresso. Basic Gray, Smoky Slate, He's the Man DSP
Tools and Accessories - Rugged Icon Dies, Stitched with Whimsy Dies, Tailor Made Tag Dies, Early Espresso Faux Suede trim, Stripes and Splatters 3D EF.

Stampin With Friends Poppy Moments

Welcome to the Stamping With Friends New Catalog Blog Hop Make sure you make it all the way through by hitting the Next button - you won't want to miss a thing!!!

I saw the split card textures dies in the back of the catalog and knew they had to be on my first order.  I could picture them making a great background , especially with any flower.  I needed a couple of thinking of you/sympathy cards for my stash so I went that route.  Also with it Memorial Day coming up in a week in the US, the red poppy was a perfect flower to use.  Red is my favorite color too!

I added a pop of rhinestone and parakeet party metallic ribbon to the flowers.  Great sparkle amount the flowers and leaves.

The new stylish shapes dies worked great for my tag.  With a little extra effort I was able to layer the two tag dies together.  I love the little holes/dots it makes to create a really cool looking border.  And...Look at all the variety of shapes you get.

Stamps - Peaceful Moments
Ink - Black
Paper - Basic Black, Basic White, Real Red, Sweet Sorbet, Old Olive, Mossy Meadow
Accessories - Poppy Moments Dies, Split Card Texture Dies, Parakeet Party Metallic Woven Ribbon, Silver epoxy essentials (retired)

Montday Montage - 213 - On The Horizon

My brother used to live in Louisville, KY and still lives quite close, just over the river.  When he moved there we vicariously got sucked into watching the Kentucky Derby and race and all the pomp that goes on just before it.  Crazy fun to get involved.  Ralph and I have come up with our own version of a Kentucky Hot Brown and Derby Pie.  Still navigating the Virgin Mint Julep.  We will eventually get it right.  Anyway....Did you see that race????!!!!???  WOW  If you haven't see it, go watch the rerun.  Watch the red and white jockey.  So impressive.

Welcome to the Monday Montage Blog Hop  Make sure you make it all the way through by hitting the Next button - you won't want to miss a thing!!!

I purchased the On the Horizon stamps and dies because I love everything ocean side, lake side, pond side...etc  I have seen so many samples and fallen in love with all of them.  Every time I try to come up with a version of my own, I find myself tossing it into the redo/improve it pile.  This time I tried to somewhat case the catalog...don't love it.  I told my husband it was supposed to be sort of abstract - (headshake)

We Create Blog Hop Flower Frenzy - Wisteria Wishes

One thing I love about cool weather Spring seasons is that the flowers last longer and I can still wear my sweatshirts.  Utah has been on quite a sea-saw but the longer we can hold out from using water for lawns and gardens the better.

Welcome to the We Create Blog Hop.  We are highlighting a frenzy of flowers this month.  With Mothers Day a week away - flowers are the perfect thing to work with. There are only a few of us and you won't want to miss a thing!

I am working with something old and something new.  I love wisteria and lilacs with all the smells of sweet blossoms in the air. I used the oval punch for he sentiment and cut off the top and bottome to layer the smaller oval.   Look at the cool sparkle....

Did you know there really is a yellow version of Wisteria?  Had to try a version of these great die cuts in a yellow.

Stamps - Wisteria Wishes
Ink - Black
Paper - Starry Sky, Orchid Oasis, Basic White, Old Olive, Soft Suede, -  Daffodil Delight, Crushed Curry, Early Espresso, Garden Green, Flowering Fields DSP

As I was perusing Pinterest, I saw a card created by Jane Proffitt - I loved it so much I cased it.  My Mother always puts in a full row of Red Salvia and I wanted to recreate that row on paper.  This card makes me all kinds of Happy! and - can be used for any occasion.  Can i just say....I am in love with all the in colors this year.  They are bright, and beautiful.  I love how the sweet sorbet layers with the real red ink.
