We Create In Color 2017-2019 Blog Hop

I am not sure why, without googling it, April Fools Day is a thing.  I have never been fond of pranks or being the target of someones joke.  Not my thing.  I have a relative that totally gets into this.  She actually paid a car repair shop to attach the horn to the brake in her husbands car.  So every time he hit the brake the car horn honked.  Can you imagine rush hour traffic in a major metropolis?   Yikes.  I felt really bad for him.

On to card making...We are using the in colors that were announced two years ago that are on their way out.  Get them while you can!!!  I am going to stock up on Lemon-Lime twist.  Such a bright fun color.

One of my BFF's and I got together to stamp a couple of cards.  She completed one and then another, while I didn't quite make it through this one.  For some reason I decided I needed to paper piece all the cut outs with the in colors.  Definitely makes for a fun lineup of presents, and a little time investment.  I love using all the "Stitched" framelits Stampin up has available and the Well Said stamp set that coordinates with those scripty word dies.  So versatile.  A must have!!!

Monday Montage #135

So here I sit craving a sweet treat and I have dug out my big jar of Jelly Belly jelly beans that I purchased at Costco.  I only buy them this time of year - a) because they are available and b) by the time I finish the jar, I am sick of them!!!  Although, my favorite is pear and I never get sick of that flavor.

I took the doggo out for his afternoon potty break and walked in a short sleeve shirt, leggings and flip flops.  CRAZY!  It was 57 F.  I wouldn't have lasted a long walk without a jacket, but just long enough to enjoy the sunshine and the anticipation of spring.

The project for today features Fable Friends.  I am starting to feel like all my cards look the same :)  My niece has a little gray pet bunny named Winter.  She is a beautiful gray which is what inspired the color.

Monday Montage #134

More snow today....I keep telling myself, the garden is going to love the extra moisture Mother Nature is bestowing upon us, but I am ready for little bit warmer weather.  At least it was only a couple of blocks to the Church so I didn't have to venture far.  

You know that moment you don't love your card, but don't have time or the right tools to make it exactly what you had envisioned?  Yes!  that was me today.  Despite the my frustration, here it the card.

So many butterflies and flowers lately, I thought I would give my neglected Hedgehugs a little love.  Have you ever had a chance to hold or play with a little hedgie?  That cute little face, nose and soft belly are soo cute!!

We Create Subtles Collection Blog Hop

I am not a subtle person and I had a really hard time making this card all subtle colors.     My preference is a touch of pink or light yellow and then a bold red or navy blue.  This card did not come out anything like I had initially planned.  Everytime I went for a pastel "ish" color, it turned out not to be in the subtles collection.    Here is what I finally came up with.

Stamps - Vibrant Vases, Sweetest Thing

Ink - Stazon Black, Petal Pink, Calypso Coral, Granny Apple Green, Balmy Blue.

Paper - Whisper White, Balmy Blue, Gingham Gala, Botanical Butterfly DSP

Tools/Accessories - Linen thread, Stitched Rectangles, Butterfly Duet punch, Blender Pen, Wink of Stella.

The flowers and vase really do sparkle pretty.

Monday Montage #133

How fun can this be?  Another hop with some seriously talented stampers.  I really enjoy taking time to make these cards for the hop and hopefully to mail out to one lucky recipient.

I love three day weekends.  We are celebrating Presidents day so I get Monday off of work.  The hard part will be trying to decide how spend that day - I have a whole list of  "need to do's" but which one.  Maybe a little sleeping in, some cleaning and crafting to wrap things up......

• My project uses the Sweet Things Suite.   The DSP  top layer has a circle corner cut to expose more of the DSP. 
• I embossed and cut the jars out of vellum.  I also stamped the jar image on Whisper White in versamark which helped with the placement of the candy so it would be centered when I added it to the back of the vellum jar.

Church this morning....Super Bowl fun and food this afternoon and a little cardmaking and blogging to wrap up the evening makes for a great ending for the weekend.

Salt Lake has had temperatures in the low 50's that last couple of days - totally giving me spring fever.  The closest I could get to spring is a few butterflies.

We Create Blushing Blog Hop

Happy February.  I  have officially made it through the toughest month (for me) of the year.  It has really helped not having a horrible inversion that makes it impossible to see the sun.  There has been enough wind and rain/slow to keep it at bay.  Participating in a step bet also keeps me out and active.

Although I have no intention of making you blush.... I have created a project with Stampin UP's petal pink and other accent pinks to follow the blushing theme of February.  I wanted to steer clear of hearts, kisses and anything else that may make someone blush :)  I know the piggy stamp set isn't new and I know that this stamp set has "been there - done that", but when I thought about pink - I wanted to play with the pigs.
