Monday Montage 172

Welcome to the
Blog Hop

I cannot believe how fast summer is flying by.  Even though it has been unbearably hot and we've been cooped up, and we will be officially missing Utah Utes Football season...we have many things to be thankful for during this quarantine.

  1. We are healthy
  2. Our garden is doing well fresh tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, zuchinni, etc
  3. We have been able to do some canning for the winter months
  4. We have dear friends that keep us sane.
  5. Family check ins are good.
  6. My husband gets a new knee in 2 weeks and then another in 6 to 8 weeks.
  7. We have a bulldog that brings such joy and pizzazz to our lives.
  8. I have been able to work from home the whole time life has been shut down.
  9. Our home worship on Sunday has improved and brought my husband and I closer together.
  10. Celebrated another birthday with my family and friends.  Regrettably not at Disney, but still good.

My card today strays from seasonal - Fall, Halloween, Christmas to Nutrition :)
Valentines Party GIF - Frozen Anna Chocolate GIFs
Both physical and mental.  Chocolate is good for the soul as well as the body.

Stamps - Nothings Better Than
Ink - Early Espresso, Soft Suede, Black
Paper - Whisper White, Blackberry Bliss, Plaid Tidings DSP Seaside Spray
Accessories - Layering Circle Dies, Tasteful Textile EF, Love You More Than Dies, Flowers for Every Season Ribbon Combo

My office is starting another challenge this year.  Instead of counting steps, we will be counting minutes of physical and spiritual activities.  From walking, running etc, to family history work, service projects etc..  Has to be in 30 minute increments and you get one point for each 30 min increment.  I think this will be the kick in the pants I need to get back on track to exercise and schedule my time more wisely.

Monday Montage #171

Welcome to Montage Montage Blog Hop - Thanks for taking the time to stop by.

I have been dabbling in some home made fall decor this last week from Wood Connection...cute owls, monsters, leaves and pumpkins.  I have promised my husband that the fall decor won't be displayed until September, but I am having a hard time resisting.

My favorite color is red and my second favorite color is FALL.  Fall colors are so brilliant and rich and such a rainbow.  I did break down and do a fall card today.

When I saw this pink/blackberry plaid, I knew I had to make a fall card.  Just a side note...you cannot pass by this plaid paper.  Colors for all year round.  I sponged the leaves with Blackberry bliss to make the pattern and edges pop.

Monday Montage #170

Are You Keepin Cool????

You have found the Monday Montage Group Blog Hop...Welcome!  If it weren't for the fresh produce we are getting from the garden, I would wish for fall and winter to be here.  You can always add a sweater and blanket to keep warm, but you can only take so many clothes off to keep cool.  We live in a basement apartment and we have no AC.  Most of the time it is tolerable, but with 102+ temps outside it is still hot inside.

It always seems like when I need a get well/get better card I never have one on hand.  The stamps from Back on Your Feet are so cute and perfect to cheer someone up.

Stamps - Back on Your Feet
Ink - Black
Paper - Pretty Peacock, Whisper White, Plaid Tidings DSP
Accessories - Tasteful Textile 3D EF, Stitched Rectangle dies, Layering Oval dies, Cinnamon Cider Twill Ribbon, Blendabilities

We are calling this week the week of salads that don't require me to turn on the stove/oven.  We have some great standbys that should help to keep the apartment cool.  We do grill outside sometimes which helps as well.

I am missing my summer playtime.  I have taken mental vacations to Disney a couple of times, a trip to Europe to see cousins, and a river trip down the Salmon River.  It helps get through the work days and the monotony of Covid-19.

I hope everyone is healthy and happy.  Continue on the hop by clicking the Next button which will take you to Elizabeth Price.  If you are hopping backwards click on the Back button to Cathy Casey.

We Create Snacks and Beverages

It is already August and summer is flying by.  Welcome to We Create Blog Hop
There are so many fun things in this new August-December Catalog that Stampin UP has put out.  So many pretty and exquisite holiday items you will want to get your hands on.

I love to entertain and host get togethers.  This Covid thing is reallllllyyyy crampin my style.  I would love to place these at a table setting or give as favors or thank you's, or place on a co-workers desk to brighten their day.

They are the perfect size 1 7/8 by 3 by 13/16 for some after dinner mints.  One of my favorite fall mixes is caramel candy corns, dry roasted nuts and fall colored m&m's.  They would even hold miniature candy bars - Halloween size.  I didn't close the tops, but ribbon or twine tying them together would be eve cuter!!!

When I saw the wheat dies, I knew I had to bundle them with a bow.  This is my first try.  I promise there will be more.  That copper ribbon is a new favorite.  It ties well and easy to shape.  I tied the acorn on with a little bit of linen thread.

Stamps - None
Ink - None
Paper - Cajun Craze, Bumble Bee, Plaid Tidings DSP
Accessories -  Little Treat Box Dies, Autumn Essentials Dies, Acorn Trinkets, Basket Weave and Metallic Ribbon combo Pack

Halloween is one of my favorite times of year.  The details on the spider bodies looks sooo cool.  Had to spice it up with some sparkle. Oh.. and you will want some of this metallic ribbon.  It looks spider webby (is that a word??) and gives a great effect.

Stamps - Little Treats
Ink - Black
Paper - Basic Black, Real Red, Magic in the Night DSP
Accessories - Little Treat Box Dies, Metallic Mesh Ribbon, Iridescent Pearls, Wink of Stella

Christmas - still can't wrap my head around it, but that plaid tidings paper just screamed at me to use it.  I tugged at the red linen trim to open up the weave a little.  And the Bell Jingles for ME! (I can hear it)

Stamps - Little Treats
Ink - Black, Real Red
Paper - Plaid Tidings DSP, Real Red, Whisper White
Accessories - Jingle Bells, Little Treat Box Dies, Real Red braided linen trim.

I hope you have been inspired or at least wish you were coming over to my house for a treat!!!Head on over to Jeanna's Blog to see what snack and treat ideas she has for you.
