So what am I missing?
A light chocolate cake with red food coloring in it. OK If it is done right it is not a bad dessert, but really I think it has gotten out of hand. No offense to those who love it.
This much red food coloring can't be good for your system. What was that big thing about Red #5? I know they fixed the toxic-ness of it, but really, does red food coloring and the name "red velvet" really make it taste better?

It's because most people don't know that all it is is food coloring. They think there is some magic ingredient. I agree-overrated!
I us3d to lie it but then it has been redone so much.. then I decide I really just like the cream cheese frosting
Ha Ha Ha oh boy is it bad that all that post made me want to do was go out and buy something red velvet to eat?
Okay ... so I'm with you on this one, too (as well as Circus Peanuts ... which is why we are BFF's!) ... it sure does LOOK pretty, though!! Never been too impressed with the taste of it, either!! :)
I'm with you...I'll take my chocolate treats in the traditional brown (or white) all that red food coloring cannot be good. This is my 1st time visiting your blog and I LOVE your header...so cute with the puppy punch art.
