Monday Montage 212 Hello Ladybug or Bee

The weekends fill up so fast with errands and chores and they seem to fly by and once again it is Monday.  I would love a vacation of pampering, rest and fresh air.  My work team is finally going back in to the office.  Albeit only one day a week, but we have chosen Monday.  I am going to miss rolling out of bed and throwing on my sweatshirts and comfy pants or shorts.

I have had this angled trifold card on my want to make list for quite some time.  Thought I would give it a whirl.  It was fun and less complicated that I had imagined to get the correct angles and designer paper layered correctly.  I have truly loved using the Party Pack of DSP given as a hostess choice.  Such fun patterns and colors.
The little bee was created by punching the body of the lady bug out of black and then yellow.  I cut the yellow head off and adhered the yellow body to the black base.  I then cut thin strips of black to layer.  I tried layering with yellow and it just didn't look right to me.  The wings were punched from vellum.  I think it is adorable layered with the daisy punch flowers.  The leaves were created using the wing portion of the punch.  I embossed them for some texture.

Monday Montage 211 Batik Boutique

As I think about all the things happening in the World and all the little challenges faced on the home front it is becoming even harder to tuck away the anxieties and continue to tell myself things are good.  This weekend members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints had the opportunity to have our lamps refilled, and the promise of peace to our souls as we continue to live the Lords commandments and put our faith in Him.  Yes, all my eggs are in this basket and it does bring peace to my soul.

Another thing that brings relaxation and has a calming effect is crafting.   I love to create and be inspired by so many of you out there.  So on that note....Welcome to the Monday Montage Blog Hop  Make sure you make it all the way through by hitting the Next button - you won't want to miss a thing!!!

I opted for bright blow you away colors today.  I was not and still not a fan of this pink when it was presented two years ago by Stampin UP as an incolor.  I think they should have called it Pepto Pink. Now that I have said that, I have to say, that when it is presented with other colors it can be pleasing to the eye.

Batik Boutique is such a fun stamp set with its coordinating dies.  This is retiring  - so if you want it get it while you can!

I lifted the tips of the flowers to give the card dimension.  While I thought it was going to take a while to piece it together, it went together smoothly and quickly.
