Monday Montage 261 - Latte Love

Happy Monday! I am just loving all the spring weather regardless of rain or sun.  The trees and grass are green, my eyes itch, my nose runs and despite that I am enjoying going outside in flip flops and without a jacket.

You have found the Monday Montage Blog Hop.  There are some seriously talented crafters in this group.  Click through them all - you won't want to miss one.

I am not a coffee drinker but I was totally drawn to the Latte Love Bundle.   I will take a cup of hot chocolate any day and I think this set fits totally in that category.  I also have many friends and family members who live for their daily coffee fix

I used the deckled circles to make the curved border.  Creates a fun edge and contrast to the card.  I love how the spoon turned out.  I cut the spoon and then stamped the image in versa mark and silver embossing powder.  It created dimension to the spoon and some extra detail.  I stamped the steam on vellum and used white embossing powder.

I the the Tartan DSP online exclusive paper.  It fit my bistro them and again love the effect it gave the card.  It is a sort of foil shine, really pretty.  I sponged the mug along the edges and detail lines to create some depth.

Stamps - Latte Love
Ink - Early Espresso, Lost Lagoon, Crumb Cake
Paper - Tartan Foil DSP, Lost Lagoon, Basic White, Silver Foil, Crumb Cake
Accessories - Basic Bakers Twine, Blooming Pearls, Deckled Circle Dies, Adoring Hearts Dies, Spotlight on Nature Dies, Latte Love Dies, white embossing powder.

Monday Montage 260 - Simply Sparkling

Its May!  The month of it may be sunny, it may be rainy, it may freeze, it may snow....wait....It is snowing!
Perfect day to stay in and have homemade soup and bread take a nap and do some crafting.  I still can't figure out where April went.

One of the activities that was held at Onstage was an after hours stamping event where we could select a bundle to create with. I chose to purchase a stamp set and dies called Spotlight on nature. The set of circle dies have various different borders.  One of the designs, we thought. would be cool to weave some thread in and out of the border

I took my white bakers twine and colored it yellow and green to match my lemon lime soda and wove the thread through the "holes"  I think it turned out pretty good!  It will be fun to see how other threads look.

I also surprised myself by using some of that amazing BRIGHT paper we were gifted at onstage - Full of Life DSP.  The DSP doesn't leave any color out!  I also used the markers to fleck some ink splatter on the card for additional Fizzzzzzz.

Stamps - Simply Sparkling
Ink - Garden Green, Black and Markers
Paper - Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Basic White, Full of Life DSP, Vellum, Silver Foil
Accessories - White Bakers Twine, Simply Sparkling Dies, Spotlight on Nature Dies

Monday Montage 259 - Country Birdhouse

My mom has this cute little ornamental birdhouse that she hung from the roof edge off the deck of the house.  These cute little wrens decided to make a home out of it.  It is so fun to get a peak inside during the spring and see those cute little babies.

The Country Birdhouse is a sneak peak stamp set and dies from the new catalog.  I wasn't overly interested until my friend Bree created such a cute card with this bundle go check it out!  I then had to have it.  It is also inspiration for my card today.

I wanted to create an effect of a birdhouse hanging from a tree full of foliage using drizzling droplets stamp and quickly found out it sort of swallowed my image.  I couldn't quickly come up with a quick alternative that I liked, so I stuck with it.

I stamped a mirror image of my little bird using a window sheet, so that I could put a cute little female (my brother calls them drab little birds because they are always brown) and the brightly colored male on the outside with the flowers.

The lazuli bunting is colored in azure afternoon, boho blue, crumb cake, peach pie and pumpkin pie,  The flowers are real red, flirty flamingo, calypso coral and bubble bath.

I love seeing all the things spring brings to life!

Stamping With Friends - Layering Leaves

We have snow today here in Salt Lake City.  A perfect day to stay inside and craft, bake bread, and enjoy some time refilling my cup through the messages given through The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints General Conference.

You have found the Stamping With Friends Blog Hop - where we get to choose how we share our creativity this round.

Inspired by @sherigilson  I had to recreate her card!  I love the Stampin UP little butterfly cut outs that can be used easily and adapted to be a perfect accent to any card.  I blended calypso coral ink on top of the butterfly.  It is layered with a cutout piece of vellum and then a base of calypso coral.  I think the dimension on the butterfly creates movement in the butterfly.  I cut out the center and covered it in versamark and gold embossing powder to accent the body.                                                                                                                                The leaves were punched and speckled with coral marker ink to give them a little bit of interest and contrast with the basic white tag.
Stamps - Layering Leaves
Ink - Calypso Coral
Paper - Basic White, Calypso Coral, Vellum
Accessories - Paper Butterfly Accents, Gold Embossing Powder, gold adhesive back dots, stylish shapes dies, Fun Patterns EF
