Monday Montage 201 Frosted Gingerbread

Usually this time of year I am so focused on Thanksgiving and all that the time of year brings with gratitude and spending time with family, but this year feels different to me.  I feel that I am already tapped out with everything on my to do list.  I have a couple of orders for Christmas cards that I need to get done by December 1st along with labels and hosting a wreath making class that I need to come up with a design for.  Nope, the Pilgrims and Native Americans are not going to be able to make their spot on the window well shelf.

Welcome to the Monday Montage Blog Hop  Make sure you make it all the way through by hitting the Next button - you won't want to miss a thing!!!

Crazy enough, I am craving gingerbread cookies.  I have never attempted to make one.  I purchased the cookie cutters and frosting tips last year, but didn't get to it.  Maybe this year.  I have a friend coming back from Disney today...I really hope he brings me a cookie.

This bundle is to die for CUTE!  The DSP that coordinates with the stamp set has sooo many fun patterns in the red and green combos.  I cut the gingerbread mittens from the paper just had to add them with a cute embellishment and a bow.  Easy and so cute!

We Create - Gratitude and Thanks - Beauty of Friendship

Happy November.  My mantra for the rest of this year will be "Don't Blink"  Time seems to be flying by and I don't want to miss all the fun, family and joy this time of year brings.

Welcome to the We Create Blog Hop.  There are only a few of us this round and you won't want to miss a thing!

For my card this month I wanted to create one with a message of gratitude. To all those in the interwebz - Thanks for the inspiration!!!  The image was fun and quick to stamp.  The second tree is done with the second generation ink from the first tree which means image was stamped a second time without re-inking the stamp.  I like the softness it gives next to the bold colors.  You can see in this shot the card is open and I cut 2.5 in off the front flap to create a fun fold/opening to the card.

Stamp - Beauty of Friendship
Ink - Night of Navy, Soft Suede, Merry Merlot, Blushing Bride
Paper - Basic White, Night of Navy, Beauty of the Earth DSP
Accessories - Twine Essentials, Matte Decorative Dots

Headlines for the Week:
  • Halloween Decor in the neighbors yard looks like the Haunted Mansion Graveyard
  • Frozen on Broadway with BFF - Just can't seem to Let It Go!
  • Missing my fresh garden tomatoes
  • Glitches in work platform has caused major issues
  • I need an attitude adjustment - Fighting the Grumpies
Not a great shot in the dark, but super cool effects

Monday Montage 200 Celebrate

I just want to savor every moment of this Fall season.  I have truly loved the colors, the temperature, the apples dipped in caramel, the pumpkin spice candles, watching football games wrapped in sweatshirts and blankets, brunch with friends, and the deliberate choice I have made to slow down.

Welcome to the 200th Monday Montage post.  Wow - definitely a reason to celebrate.  I have only recently been a part of this hop, but the chance I have had to get to know the other bloggers and share in their amazing talents is truly a blessing for me.  I wouldn't trade this experience for anything!  Make sure you make it all the way through by hitting the Next button - you won't want to miss a thing!!!!

Once again I have chosen to highlight Fall and the opportunity to let someone know that they need to be celebrated.  Who doesn't????

Stamps - Celebrate Sunflowers
Ink - Pumpkin Pie, Merry Merlot, Calypso Coral, Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze, Black
Paper - Beauty of the Earth DSP, Mango Melody, Blackberry Bliss, Basic white
Accessories - Intricate Leaves Die, Bakers Twin Essentials, Stitched Rectangle Dies.

I hate that I - more often than not - wait until the last minute to create my card for the hop.  I always wonder how much better it would be if I had taken a little bit of extra time.  So much for taking it easy.  More cuddle time on the couch with the dog - less time at the crafting table.

Headlines for the Week
  • Caramel Apples for neighbors and friends - best fall treat!
  • Decorated cupcakes with the YW at the Church for Halloween
  • Brunch with the Girlfriends - OMG - Egg roulade is yummy!
  • My Football team is on a Seesaw

Monday Montage 198 Pretty Pillow Box Dies

This last weekend was crazy eventful.  My Utes won their first conference game of  the year.  It wasn't a pretty win, lots to work on, but glad we came out with the W.  The stadium was super hot - came home completely wiped out.  One of the players was killed last night.  A fellow co-worker died of covid last week.  Friend was in a crazy car accident.  It just makes me realize even more that People Matter, being kind and good to each other matters.  In the scheme of things, touchdowns, fumbles, broken fingernails and whether I have enough diet coke in the fridge doesn't matter.

Welcome to the Monday Montage Blog Hop - Make sure you make it all the way through by hitting the Next button - you won't want to miss a thing!!!!

I opted to play with the Pretty Pillows Die which is sold as an accessory to the  Gingerbread bundle.  I wanted to showcase some cute ideas that are not Christmas.  I love me a treat holder.  These will hold a gift card, hershey nuggets, or bite size candy bars, chapstick and whatever else you want to try to fit in there!

The closure on this is done with a magnet a washer

Stamps - Many Messages
Ink - Black
Paper - Pattern Party DSP, Basic White

The closure on this used double holes to tie the ribbon through

The candy on the DSP is colored with the markers.  The skull is cut from the DSP and the Flap is tied down with the twine.

Monday Montage 197 - Nuts About Squirrels

Where do the Weekends go??? They get filled with chores, errands, fun things, Sabbath worship a little rest, and the next thing you know you have to get up and go to work.  You pack your bag, pack your lunch, don't forget your ear buds and your work ID to get into the building.  Hopefully your isn't' too full

Welcome to the Monday Montage Blog Hop.  Hang with us by clicking the next button to make sure you get to all the stops.  Always something inspiring to see.

This little squirrel set is so cute.  It also incites a little frustration.  Why you ask?  Between chewed wires and pine cone storage my Mum's car has been to the repair shop a few times.    They steal all the bird seed from the feeders and make a huge mess.  The invasive gray tails have caused the most damage so I made mine a lovely brown.

This little squirrel is just adorable

Stamps - Nuts About Squirrels, Joyful Life
Ink - Early Espresso, Cinnamon Cider, Soft Suede
Paper - Early Espresso, Basic White, Beauty of the Earth DSP, SAB Peaceful Prints DSP, Pumpkin Pie, Cherry Cobbler, Cajun Crazy, Blackberry Bliss, Crushed Curry, Mango Melody
Accessories - White Embossing Powder, Bakers Twine Essentials, Layering Circles dies, Intricate Leaves Dies

Highlights of the Week
  • Trips to the home I grew up in are good for my heart
  • Shakespeare was a Brilliant Writer
  • Forgiveness and Love - Two of the best choices one could ever make
  • Family is FUN
  • Work Challenges and Resolutions are good for the Brain
  • Sometimes Football makes me cry/sad
  • Sabbath Worship is good for my heart
  • Trash Pandas - are cute.  Here is a shot I took from the deck off my Mum's home.

We Create Sale A Bration Blog Hop - Chocolate Bar Box

Look at those cute little flower embellisments!

WOW - September 2021 has arrived.  I keep waiting for things to go back to normal - but I am slowly coming to the realization that we will be adjusting to the normal for quite some time.  I hope that at some point it levels out.  My boy crush and I are going to a college football game tomorrow.  How weird will it be trying to yell at the Refs behind a face mask?

Welcome to the We Create Blog Hop - Make sure you make it all the way through by hitting the Next button - you won't want to miss a thing!!!!

This is a great time to shop and even better sign up with Stampin' UP!  Its a great deal and extra freebies come with both a purchase and signing up.  Which - leads me to wax philosophical for a minute.

When I signed up the cost of the starter kit was PRICEY.  I spent the next night wondering what the heck I had done.  How was I going to make my minimums and get people interested. Here I am 17 years later and I can't bring myself to drop, even though I don't have classes at this time.  I love the product and the many friends I have made.

I love creating projects with paper - especially little gift boxes and bags.  When a gift is presented in a pretty box or bag, it makes it that much more special.  I found this pattern off of facebook.  The Crafty Carrot Collective.  Krista Frattin provided the pattern and how to video
.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jm1HkLCeT4Q

This is the box open - I have used two flat magnets for the closure.
Its hard to tell in this picture and the one before, but the border
strips of paper are cut from Ombre Specialty Paper - it is oh so sparkly

The box all the way open - perfect for two Cadbury size chocolate bar
I have included a tag to write a heartfelt thanks to the recipient
I love it - and plan to make many for the Holidays   Just think how
Cute a Halloween one will be.. Stay tuned!

Stamps - In Symmetry
Ink - Poppy Parade
Paper - Flirty Flamingo, Basic White, Pattern Party DSP, Ombre Specialty Paper
