We Create Love Blog Hop

It seems if I can just get through January then spring is only around the corner.  I sooo look forward to the spring once the Christmas season is over. To add to my winter doldrums, Salt Lake City currently has the worst air quality in the nation. Stay in and try not to breathe ..Right?!

I am not a big fan of Valentines Day.  I appreciate that it gives an opportunity to you and your loved ones to declare your love for them. I actually hope that you do that everyday.  What I don't like is the advertising and the forced obligation of expressing ones love with everything the jewelers, florists, chocolatiers, stuffed toy makers tell you that you need.  I also hate how it makes those feel that don't have a said Valentine to share gifts with.

I always tell my husband that I know he loves me and that I don't want him spending exorbitant prices on flowers that soon die.  I would rather have his undivided attention for an evening.  I do love the homemade or well thought out gifts that are given.

Now that my ranting is done, I do love a good Valentines Card.
I didn't do a Step UP - honestly I have a hard time doing that.  I usually start with an end product in mind.  The middle steps are the hardest.

I used Sunshine Sayings with the coordinating dies from the main catalog.  I also used the Sending Love DSP and ribbon from the Occasions catalog.  I added the metallic enamel shapes at the end.  I hope this inspires you in your Valentine creations.

Head on over to Lynns blog to see what she is sharing with us!

Lol, most times I do the stepped up card FIRST, and then make a simpler version of it ;-) What a sweet card, thanks for sharing!

Great card! Great layout and style. (BTW, I totally agree with your rant about commercialization of Valentine's Day, or any holiday for that matter...)
