This week has been so busy...I almost wish I had taken the time off of work, to relax and enjoy the holidays. Bu we all know when you take time off of work that you have to play catch up when you get back. I did take a little time to play with my paper and stamps. I had a friend whose mother passed away this week and a niece with a birthday.
The first card I did was with a sympathy card in mind. I used the tutorial shown by Jackie Bultje. You ink the embossing folder with soft suede, accent it with night of navy and stamped the tree from Lovely as a tree in garden green. You then run he birch tree embossing folder through the big shot. This is the result. Everyone you do is slightly different.
The second card uses a stencil and the emobssing paste. I glittered it and let it dry. And yes, as careful and I can be, I will have glitter hanging around in time for the new years party. I popped up the cupcake with the banner die tht comes as a companion to the stamp set. I love how the dies cut perfectly around each image.
Hop on over to Jeanna's blog and check out her creations.
Wow Cheryl! Both of these are so fancy. For the first card I still don't understand how the ink from the trees avoids the e,embossed trunk/branches. It's like a magical technique. So pretty. I will have to try this. And I love the sparkle and texture on your cupcake card.
ReplyDeleteThese are both great! I LOVE seeing that embossing folder used this way! I will have to try again! :) I also really like the embossing paste...gonna have to get some of that soon!
ReplyDeleteGreat cards Cheryl! Love the texture! TFS!
ReplyDeleteLove the perspective through the trees on that first card. I will have to give it a try along with my embossing paste... finally. Thank you for sharing!
