Monday Montage 182

January is on its way out and we finally have a skiff of snow on the ground. Valentine decor is up (small amount compared to Christmas) and the Christmas stuff finally got put away.  I always wished for a cute little family to have dinners and special valentine traditions with.  It is just boy crush and I and he isn't into that kind of thing too much.  Maybe this year I will make it extra special - planning gear has kicked in :)

Welcome to the Monday Montage Blog Hop.  I hope you stick around and find a project that inspires you or at least makes you smile.

I have been wanting to give the slimline style cards a go.  That is a lot of card real-estate to cover and can be intimidating. I chose to use the Darling Donkey Set from Sale a Bration.  I couldn't choose just one image, so this format allowed me to use them all.

There are so many uses for these stubborn but darling creatures featured in the stamp.  I've ridden a donkey before, his name was Cabbot.  He definitely had his stubborn streak and wasn't afraid to share it with you.  Hahaha  The kicking donkey in the set is more his style.

This is one of those cards, where I used "all the things", but why not if you have them.

Stamps - Darling Donkey, Punch Party, So Sentimental
Ink - Black, Pear Pizzazz, Pool Party, Balmy Blue, Flirty Flamingo, Smoky Slate, Basic Gray
Paper - Thick Cardstock, Berry Delightful DSP, Basic White, Real Red, Flirty Flamingo
Accessories - Layers Squares dies, Stitched Shapes dies, Stitched So Sweetly dies, Stitched Be Mine dies, Resin Hearts, Banners Pick a Punch, Blending Brushes, Blending Pens, Wink of Stella, Snail Mail Twine

Here is the inside.....I attempted to make it look like the donkey was kicking the hearts.  Just think about all the things this stubborn little donkey could be kicking your way!!!

I continue to use my word Prevail as I encounter the challenges that come my way.  I rely a lot on prayers and hope.  It is easy to let social media and news channels take away my peace of mind.  I shake my head a lot and try to refocus on things that I can change and things that make me happy.

My headlines for the last week.

1.  Color Street nail strips turn a blah manicure into an Amazing manicure
2.  Fresh Air clears the mind and provides clarity
3.  Card Making/Crafting provides creative outlet for stress
4.  Student of Artisan bread making uses a Biga to broaden bread making skills
5.  Boy Crush makes huge strides in the therapy pool
6.  Flat Tire repaired for free -
7.  Sometimes Holidays from work are great excuses to have "do nothing" days

Monday Montage #181

Ten days into January and my Christmas decorations are sitting in a pile and have not yet been put away.  I had plans to do it on Saturday, but the previous week had been so chaotic nothing productive got done.  I did sneak away to spend some time with my BFF to purchase a couple of crafty items and get a yummy snack that was totally not good for us.  It made for a fun time.  Are your decorations put away from the holidays???

Welcome to the Monday Montage Blog Hop - These are such talented crafters I hope you find something that inspires you on every page.

The card I made jumps to the holiday of Valentines.  Although I feel that the day feels full of forced\obligatory declarations of love, it is still nice to be appreciated and recognized.

I used the "you" die and the "love" die from Well Written.  I cut the LO from the love and combined it to make the you've.  The stolen letters were made by inking the blending brushes to blend the colors, then the letter dies were placed on the inked paper and cut.  The "my heart" is part of a sentiment from Lots of Heart, but I masked the rest of it so I could get the words that I needed to complete the saying.
And don't you love that little kangaroo????

Stamps - Kangaroo and Company, Lots of Heart
Ink - Real Read, Flirty Flamingo, Petal Pink, Black
Paper - Real Red, Whisper White, Basic Black
Accessories - Kangaroo dies, Treasures Tags Pick a Punch, Curvy Dies, Well Written Dies, Playful Alphabet, Tasteful Textile EF, Resin Hearts

My mantra word Prevail and making my own headlines each day is really helping me keep perspective.  Some of my headlines from last week...

  1. Boy Crush makes wife best breakfast hash ever
  2. New exercise clothes purchased to encourage activity
  3. BFF's enjoy pretzel mini dogs and a McDreamy at the park while watching dogs
  4. The teachings of  Christ bring peace to a troubled heart
  5. Oliver, the Bulldog fully recovers from being sick
  6. TOSH Physical Therapists are the BEST
I hope you are creating your own headlines that bring you happiness.

We Create Crisp Creases

Happy New Year Everyone.  This year I am choosing to create my own headlines each day this coming year instead of letting the media dictate the focus of my day.  I have also chosen a word for the year kind of like my mantra.  I want to see the Good and be the Good.
 PREVAIL

My project for today is a cute little box.  Whenever I hear crisp creases  I go to packaging.  I love to get and give cute little packaging with my  gifts. I know most of the time, even though you spend time to make it special, the box or tag gets tossed.  But I choose to believe that the recipient remembers how they felt when the received the package (at least I do)

Digging into the annual catalog I pulled out my petals and parcel box.  The box goes together quite simply and easily.  It creates two sizes.   Lots of Youtube how to videos  - check them out!

I made a belly band out of one of the decorative elements included with the dies and pasted a tag to hide the join.  These are great to leave on someone's car, desk, pillow, porch, table favor etc.

Stamps - Petals and Parcels
Paper - Basic Black, Whisper White, Sale -a- Bration Flower and Field DSP
Ink - Black
Accessories - Perfect Parcel Dies

Another goal I have this year is to be on time with my birthday cards, instead of always getting them to the recipient late (embarrassing) and to get Christmas cards and tags done ahead of schedule.  Are you always on schedule???  What are your crafting goals?

Monday Montage 180

I am not sure where the time has gone, but we are on the final count down of 2020.  Christmas came and went - no snow.  It was quiet and at times lonely.  My boy crush is on the mend from a second knee surgery and with time will be his active normal self.  I have soooo many hopes for the year to come.

One thing that comes with the new year, is a new seasonal catalog and......Sale a Bration!!!  Who doesn't love free stamps?  I opted to used Vine Designs for my card this week.

I stamped the Oh so Ombre DSP with Versamark ink using the vine stamps to give the back ground some interest.  I cut the vine design 4 times so that I could cut out the elements I wanted to layer on top.  The dies that coordinate with stamp set have everything you need to make some real pretty cards with very little effort.

Stamps - Vine Design
Ink - Versamark, Granny Apple Green, Gorgeous Grape, Blushing Bride
Paper - Whisper white, Granny Apple Green, Gorgeous Grape, Blushing Bride, Highland Heather, Oh So Ombre DSP
Accessories - Flowering Vine Dies, Snail Mail Twine Combo Pack

Monday Montage 179

And the countdown is on....I can't believe how uneventful this holiday season has been.  I am finding people create drama's to make their lives exciting (gasp!)  I am still trying to make the holidays as normal as possible with the same traditions and treats. I made my Mama's fruitcake yesterday and yes I am one of those weirdo's that like a good fruitcake.  Lots of memories.

Welcome to the Monday Montage Blog Hop - These are such talented crafters I hope you find something that inspires you on every page.
I love a well laid out simple card.  Sometimes you can get lost in all the little extras and lose sight of the focal point.   Early on in my marriage we decided to buy a stuffed moose every Christmas...sometimes they are abundant and everywhere and sometimes they are not trending and almost impossible to find.
We have collected many over the years and the moose has become something of a symbol for us.

Stamps - Merry Moose
Ink - Versamark
Paper - Whisper White, Basic Black, Cherry Cobbler, Plaid Tidings DSP
Accessories - Moose Punch, White Embossing Powder, Stitched Rectangle Dies

My crush goes to surgery tomorrow to have his second knee surgery done.  It will be a long day, but I look forward to the results.  Crazy time to have surgery, but we have met our deductible, so it is worth it.  Not like we can or should go anywhere or do anything outside of our home anyway.  It will be a good time to really focus on the true meaning of Christmas.  A time to remember and appreciate friendships and relationships that hopefully will be renewed in person soon.

Well I hope you are enjoying yourself.  Next up is Dani - or if you are traveling in reverse, Charlet.  Hope your Day is fantastic.

Monday Montage #177

Welcome to Monday Montage Blog Hop.  I have been trying to stay away from making Christmas cards because I just haven't been ready to accept the season is upon us.  The snow today kind of put me in the mood for the holidays.  I thought this was a fun fold card to use with the Wishes and Wonder Stamps.

The front flap opens to this....

Stamps - Wishes and Wonder
Ink - Shaded Spruce
Paper - Real Red, Brushed Metallics, Whisper White, Shaded Spruce, Plaid Tidings DSP, Vellum
Accessories - Poinsettia Dies, Wonderful Gems, Wonder of the Season Ribbon Argyle Satin, North Pole Wonder Dies

The weather outside is Frightful and it's only the beginning of November.  It has snowed on and off all day.  So, being extra stuck at home, cause no one wants to walk the dog in the snow, I made spudnuts today.  It just felt like a day to make a home made doughnut and you can't go wrong with spudnuts with a maple glaze.  They turned out sooo goood.  Light and fluffy.  I'm gonna give credit to those good ol' Idaho Potatoes.
With the icky weather I am so glad I don't have to drive to work tomorrow.  I can roll out of bed and put on some comfy clothes and work from home.  One positive thing we have from the Covid Pandemic.  Our state count is so high right now.  They just issued a mask mandate and a don't socialize with anyone unless you live with them.  Our hospital capability is nearing capacity.  Not fun!.

Well I hope you are enjoying yourself.  Next up is Dani - or if you are traveling in reverse, Charlet.  Hope your Day is fantastic.

We Create - Bundle UP

Happy November and Welcome to the We Create Blog Hop!  I hope everyone had a happy Halloween.  We joined up with our neighbors upstairs and handed out candy - social distancing the hole time.  It was so fun to see the costumes and talk to people.  I have missed socializing a lot.
Stampin up offers a great deal in the bundles they sell.  The stamps set and dies at a discount.  A no brainer when you go to make the purchase.  The Bundle that I chose you use is Beautiful Autumn.  It has some great sentiments and all the little fall accents you need to create a fall card.

Stamps - Beautiful Autumn
Ink - Early Espresso, Bumble Bee, Terra Cotta Tile, Old Olive, Crumb Cake
Paper - Whisper White, Plaid Tidings, Cajun Craze
Accessories - Autumn Punch Pack, Stitched Shapes Dies, Layering Oval Dies, Wood Plank EF, Linen Thread, Wonderful Gems

I spent most of yesterday making my caramel apples and delivering them to my close friends and neighbors.  I usually look forward to this project every year, but I wasn't going to do it this year.  A couple of co-workers and friends guilted me into it.  Labor of love, but soooo delicious.  I made cute little Halloween tags to tie to the bags they were put into.  There is one left in my fridge and it's all MINE!
